The amazing and talented Faith Kelly is filming a music video with me for my original song “Sleeping Outside”. I released this song back in 2022 but some personal sadness over the loss of my closest girlfriend stopped me in my tracks. And now I’m ready to promote my music and create more! Here’s a tiny taste of what we’re working on.

Faith Kelly is filming a music video with me for my original song “Sleeping Outside”. We began filming in the fields on the country road where I live as the sun was setting. In addition to her eye for composition she has some great hardware – a 4K camera and a drone!

We’re going to film one more section then she’ll do a final edit and I’m excited to finally bring a real effort to promote my music.

Here’s a tiny clip to whet your appetite.

SkyHigh – Sleeping Outside

The Delaware Valley Opera has opened ARTS NEST, a new space in Lake Huntington. It’s a listening room for live performance featuring original music from singer-songwriters from Folk, Rock, Americana and Jazz. You can also enjoy comedians and classical performances. The ARTS NEST gallery features ongoing exhibitions from local artists throughout the year.

I’m pleased to Host the Tuesday Open Mic with sign-up at 5:30pm and music from 6 – 8pm.

Join us Tuesday evening 6-8pm for a friendly and exciting open mic at Arts Nest. Sign-up at 5:30pm.

Our stage is comfortable and the sound is really fine. We have a Yamaha acoustic piano on stage. We have a creative vibe and welcome all levels of musicians. Bring us your new song and we’ll listen.

June 19, 2002 – Kathy Geary and Ian Christopher Roberts on the Stage in the Woods at the Martinfeld Ranch Soltice Music Festival. A cloudy day and rather cool upper 50s for the height of summer but shinning faces all around as we celebrated with music dance and poetry. I was happy to sing my songs and some Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and a one by Ed Sheeran. If a video turns up I’ll be sure to post it here. Love!

Julian Giaimo, Producer

We’re in the home stretch! Julian Giaimo is mixing five songs and bringing his considerable skills as a Music Producer.

Cloud Cover recorded five songs in a live session at Big Orange Sheep studios in Brooklyn NY in July 2021.

Overdubs were done remotely by some wonderfully talented musicians from far and wide. Ron Blake has been in the SNL Band for years and contributes the sax on “Heaven Is”. Elizabeth Rose, a singer-songwriter in her own right plays slide guitar on “When I’m Awake”. From the west coast, Jeness and Sean Johnson play viola and cello on “Sleeping Outside”.

Finding the right sound for today’s tastes is something I thought I could do on my own. But turns out I needed an extra set of ears to really hear the music. It’s like looking into a mirror and trying to see yourself objectively. Not easy. Julian Giaimo is there for me, I trust his instincts. The vocal sound is critical as my music relies heavily on the classical training I received as an operatic soprano.
